ALKONAT® L 400

A high-performance surfactant derived from renewable sources.

ALKONAT ® L 400 is a non-ionic surfactant derived from renewable sources. It is nonylphenol-free and has a great capacity to reduce surface tension reduction as a result of the EO.

Composed of 40 EO obtained from the reaction with lauryl alcohol, the product has remarkable wetting, detergency and emulsification properties.

The combination of less foaming and less retention makes ALKONAT ® L 400 a better operating condition product than  highly ethoxylated nonylphenol-derived surfactants. Its low CMCvalue delivers a better use factor and a potential substitute for surfactants derived from environmentally friendly nonylphenol-derived surfactants.

Applications:

• Additive for textiles and leather, such as a cosurfactant and emulsifier for oils, with little persistent foam
• Pulp and paper, as a co-solubilizer in bleaching
