In foliar applications, the wettability of the leaf surface is critical for success. The reason for this is the retention, spreadability and subsequent absorption of the active principle result from the deposition of drops on the leaves.

However, the adhesion of these droplets to the leaf surface is not so simple: the thin cuticle that covers the leaf surface has a hydrophobic feature, which helps to repel water. In addition to that, the surface tension of aqueous solutions makes adhesion even more challenging.

SURFOM® ADJ 8860 technology reduces static and dynamic surface tension to maximize surface coverage in the application and can be combined with active ingredients with systemic and contact action.

With the goal of reducing surface tension, the advantage of this technology is the flexibility to the pH variation and composition of the application solution, when compared to the traditional compounds. The product’s performance has proven to be stable even in extreme differences in acidity.
