Buenos Aires, Argentina – June 17, 2026 – Indovinya, the global specialty chemicals and surfactants division of Indorama Ventures, will participate in Cleaning Products Latin America (CPLA) 2026, one of the leading cleaning industry events in the region, presenting a new solution that is biodegradable and free from BTEX derivatives, combining high performance and innovation in formulations.
During the event, the company will present its latest innovation in a multifunctional solution for home care, in the session “Innovation (Launches, Nanotechnology, Softeners, Fragrance)”, on June 17, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm (local time).
The presentation, titled “Multifunctional Fragrance Solubilizer: Improving Both Fragrance Delivery and Cleaning Performance”, will be delivered by Dr. Thu Landry, R&D Manager for Home Care at Indovinya.
Innovation combining performance and sensory experience
In the development of cleaning products, fragrance plays an essential role in shaping consumers’ perception of cleanliness, freshness, and overall product quality. However, the effective incorporation of hydrophobic fragrances into aqueous systems remains a significant technical challenge, often requiring high levels of solubilizers and compromising formulation clarity and stability. The solution presented by Indovinya proposes an innovative approach to address this challenge.
The new ingredient — based on a polymeric ester chemistry — was designed to act directly on the micellar structure of surfactant systems, enabling greater flexibility to accommodate fragrances with different chemical characteristics.
This approach significantly enhances solubilization capacity while optimizing the interaction between fragrance and the cleaning system.
“Two-in-one” solution for more efficient formulations
The innovation stands out for its dual functionality:
- Improved fragrance delivery, with higher solubilization efficiency, enabling more concentrated and stable formulations
- Enhanced cleaning performance, due to its co-surfactant effect that strengthens detergency
Studies have shown that the ingredient can achieve up to 2 to 3 times higher solubilization capacity compared to traditional solubilizers such as polysorbates and hydrogenated castor oil ethoxylates.
In addition, laundry performance tests indicated significant improvements in soil removal, even with a reduction of up to 30% in product dosage, highlighting gains in efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
“We developed this technology to address two critical market challenges — delivering superior sensory experience without compromising cleaning performance. With a single solution, we can significantly improve formulation efficiency while reducing system complexity,” says Dr. Thu Landry, R&D Manager for Home Care at Indovinya.
Versatility and sustainability
The new solubilizer was developed for use across different cleaning product categories, with a focus on high performance combined with a more sustainable environmental profile, including:
- laundry detergents
- surface cleaners
- hand dishwashing liquids
It also aligns with current market demands, being water-soluble, biodegradable, and free from BTEX derivatives.
Innovation aligned with market trends
By combining functional performance and sensory experience in a single ingredient, the solution addresses key industry demands:
- formulation simplification
- total cost reduction
- improved product efficiency and performance
- enhanced consumer experience
This approach reinforces Indovinya’s positioning as a strategic partner in the development of more advanced and sustainable solutions for the Home Care sector.
